As the date draws closer, new surprises keep coming up. We had been preparing ourselves for an ALL NATURAL birthing experience. We’ve practiced the breathing techniques, read the notes, chose the prayer we wanted to use during labor, the birth plan and have been preparing ourselves for this wonderful experience.

During the past few visits to Dr Premitha she has been saying that the baby is big. Then the past few weeks as we were scheduled to see her once a week as the due is getting closer, Jr’s size was going off the charts!

He is growing at a whopping 350g/week! We watched his weight from 2.8kg – 3.2kg and the recent visit, 3.65kg! Normal asian babies are born weighing 3 – 3.4kg’s. Jr’s a BIG BOY for sure!

His head has already reached 10com in diameter. Mummy can dilate until 10cm….and Jr is STILL GROWING! The doctor says that she will wait another week, and if Mrs Wong don’t go into labor, then we have to go for a planned C-Sec.

Although it’s a downer but most important is my Mrs Wong’s safety and if Dr Premitha who has delivered 3 of my cousins babies, 2 natural and 1 c-sec advises us to do it, I guess we will just have to trust her on this one.

So now, we have to go and see the higher authorities for the best time, the best date for Jr to be out. Its like playing god but if you look at it at a different point of view, we aren’t playing god. God has decided that Jr has to be introduced to the world in this way so we just have to follow his arrangements.

The past few nights, Mrs Wongs surges have been quite serious. Seeing her in pain like this really kills me. Jr, Momma’s been through a lot for you. Everytime mommy feels the surges, i just feel helpless coz I cant do ANYTHING to stop it.
Mommy’s mood swings were in full effect these few days. But as a husband, we MUST tolerate it and understand that these things happen during pregnancy and we can never understand how they are feeling so just go with the flow and DON’T CHALLENGE them. Give them whatever they need/want. They deserve everything.
